Nehemiah UCHA's existence and success in the provision of good social housing is dependent on its partnerships with various business partners and agents.
Nehemiah UCHA work closely with the Housing Corporation (the arm of government responsible for regulating housing associations in England) and local authorities (Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Coventry, Walsall and Dudley). The association also works in partnership with other housing associations and with property developers, construction companies, property maintenance contractors, financial institutions and others to produce quality homes that are well serviced.
Our approach in dealing with all business partners and agents is that of maintaining a consistent and professional approach in all its dealings, and applying its Christian ethos of caring for people.
Beyond merely conducting its affairs in social housing, Nehemiah UCHA is vitally concerned with issues of community and racial equality. Business planning and service delivery, therefore, take into consideration and promote race equality, including performance reviews and Best Value approaches.
The approach to race equality has a positive impact on business activities, including the provision of housing and support services, community partnerships and employment. The Association's Business Plan is based on the provision of housing and support services to BME communities. We also involve the community in planning and scheme design, where appropriate.
The social investment made by Nehemiah UCHA in service provision, support services and community development reflects the needs of BME communities in the region.
Contractors and consultants that work for the Association in the housing sector need to be able to demonstrate how they are promoting race equality in their own organisations.
